See-And-Point Interface

The see-and-point interface is an old paradigm that underlies both WIMP and basic immersive interfaces. The interface basically displays objects or targets to click on with a pointing device, which is their means of interfacing with the system. In this way, drop down menus and 3D objects are similar.

Too much game, and you've got Quake, and the world is a flavourless collection of point-hounding players, who don't care if they're wearing "a Hawaiian shirt" on their body if it's got +damroll.?

The Human Brain has a Network Backbone
An unexpected discovery of a hierarchical networking scaffold inside the human brain itself, has interesting implications for future neuroprosthetics. Rather than having to interface with the grey matter right where computations are being done, we may in fact only have to interface with the white matter 'between departments' as it were, to achieve the same interface effect.
