Inertial MoCap Inertial motion capture does not use cameras. Instead, tiny inertial sensors are placed on all the body parts of the user. This can either be done manually or by embedding them into a suit. The inertial sensors function like a web, each relaying its data, usually wirelessly, to a central computer system which builds up a map of changes in bodily position on a real-time basis.
