Touching Virtual Spiders doubles effectiveness of arachnophobia treatment

VR spiders, used to dampen the trauma for arachnophobia suffers, and allow them to become used to, and tolerant of spiders, is much more effective when patients can add touching spiders to their therapy.
When the touch of real spiders was added to the therapy, researchers noted the therapy was twice as effective as pure simulation alone, with little extra cost.
