2-manifold is an error checking procedure used in CAD, CAM, and a handful of other applications. It checks for non-manifold errors in supposedly solid wireframe objects. To do this, it checks the vertexes that make up the object. Each vertex should logically connect to two manifolds, or surfaces. If any line connects to 0 manifolds, the line represents a 1 dimensional par of the object. This is not a manifold model. If a line connects to one manifold, there?s a hole in the model. Any more than 2 manifolds connect to the line, and you have a higher dimensional object, impossible for a 3D printer to make.
